The Monterey Pool Table's heavy timber base frame is constructed of solid kiln-dried hardwoods and select laminated wood veneers. The cross bracing is the backbone of the table and is made from solid 1x4-inch timber bolted at 10 points for unitizing the cabinet for maximum strength and stability. The cabinet interior is stained and sealed to lock out moisture, and both the interior and exterior have equally applied sealers to keep the wood frame stable. A multilayer glaze finish with highlighting found only on the finest furniture is hand applied to the cabinet by furniture finishing experts. This brings out the natural beauty of the wood grain, unlike the standard dull finish found on most pool tables.

This 8-foot slate table features a 44x88-inch playing surface built to Billiard Congress of America (BCA) specifications. The playing surface is 1-inch certified professional three-piece slate diamond-honed with an oversized 60-inch grinding wheel for a truly accurate playing surface; the slate surface is computer-controlled with a tolerance to 1/10,000 of an inch.

The Monterey Pool Table's woolen pool table cloth is available in your choice of olive, camel, navy, burgundy, wine, or black. It is made of the highest quality 75/25 blend of the finest wool and nylon for little or no pilling for a fast, durable playing surface. The cloth is bathed in DuPont Teflon for true water and stain resistance, and each bolt of cloth is carefully inspected to be free of knots and loose fibers, assuring accurate ball roll and playability.

Block lamination on the rails provides superior stability and guarantees no warping or twisting, and the same hardwood is used on the entire rail and subrail. The uniform cushion height ensures accurate playability. A relief groove is cut in the subrail for staple installation of the cloth and helps keep the cushion height uniform along each rail for accurate playability. Full K-66 profile rail cushions are made with an exclusive formulation from 100 percent high-quality natural gum rubber with no additional fillers and are BCA-specified for the industry and tournaments. UV degeneration and oxidation inhibitors are blended into the rubber formulation for lasting years of accurate play.

Furthermore, a canvas is vulcanized to the top surface of the cushion to control accuracy of ball deflection. The canvas is also vulcanized to the top surface of the cushion to strengthen the bond to the rail. The aprons are permanently bonded for unsurpassed straightness and strength for years of accurate play. The standard sights are genuine mother-of-pearl with abalone inset diamonds. Finally, less rail vibration means more accurate ball rebound; 3/8-inch diameter bolts are threaded into the Iron Jawâ„¢ nut plate to give the rail-to-table joiners approximately 80 percent more downward holding strength than standard t-nuts.

The rail surfaces are highlighted with a unique furniture finishing glaze, then hand-rubbed to bring out the luster of the natural wood grain. The surfaces are multistep coated with a highly durable and scratch-resistant piano finish. The pockets are made of only the finest saddle-grade leather dried to match the color of the table. The leather bucket pockets have extra-thick leather around the collar to prevent warping or curling, and the bottoms of the pockets are stitched, rather than stapled, for added strength.
